Obituary for Franklin L. Kauffman, Sr.
Franklin L. Kauffman 90 years, of Catasauqua, passed away on Friday December 9th, 2016. He was the husband of the late Arlene (Uhl) Kauffman whom he married on July 5th, 1946. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Theodore and Verna (Fatzinger) Kauffman.

Frank graduated from Allentown High School in 1944. He served in the U. S. Navy for two years, serving with the 20th Regiment Sea-bee Unit at Pearl Harbor. Upon his discharge from the navy he attended the Industrial Management Institute of Philadelphia and graduated in 1952.

He was then employed at the Allentown Veterans Administration for one year. After that he was employed at Bethlehem Furniture until 1998. In 1958 Bethlehem Furniture transferred production to their plant in Red Lion, PA and Franklin transferred there until 1967, when he was sent back to Allentown. In 1969 Frank was elected Vice President in charge of production. After his retirement from Bethlehem Furniture he continued to work part time as a consultant.

Most recently he and his son Franklin Jr. owned and operated the Le Hi Valley Candle Company which they started in 2003. He is a member of the VFW of Egypt, the History Channel Club, and the MLB Insiders Club. Frank was a lifetime member of the Canadochly Lutheran Church of York, PA and a former member of St. Mark’s Church of Allentown.

Surviving are his four children, daughters Chereen Lichtenwalner of Columbia, S.C., Suzanne Stettler of Easley, S.C.; sons Craig F. Kauffman of Northampton, PA and Franklin L. Kauffman, Jr. of Egypt, PA; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother Ronald Kauffman of Neffs, PA. and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Theodore Jr. and Melvin and sisters Althea Attrill and Charlotte Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, December 16th, 2016 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. His viewing will be from 9-10am Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to Wounded Warriors, 301 Grant St. Suite 900, Pittsburgh, 15219 or to the Allentown Recue Mission, 355 W. Hamilton St. Allentown, 18105.
