Obituary for Franklin "Pat" D. Fried
Franklin “Pat” D. Fried, 86, formerly of North Catasauqua, died Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Myrtle J. (Kline) Fried and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November of 2006. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Herbert C. and Irene E. (Diefenderfer) Fried. Franklin was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua for over 80 years and was very active holding many positions within the church including church elder. He was also a member of the Porter Lodge #284 F. & A. M. Catasauqua for over 50 years. Franklin worked as a traffic manager for Allentown Portland Cement Co. for more then 30 years before retiring. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving with his wife Myrtle are sons Glenn and his wife Ann, Mark and his wife Patricia both of Whitehall; brother Guy C. Fried of Catasauqua; 6 grandchildren and 4 great granddaughters. Services will be held 11am Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 2nd & Pine Sts., Catasauqua. Call from 9:30-10:30am at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to the church.
