Obituary for Frederick C. "Fred" Oswald
Frederick “Fred” Oswald, 88 died peacefully Sunday evening, March 3 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathryn “Betty” Oswald with whom he shared 44 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2011. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Miriam and Claude Oswald.
He worked for many years at the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds as well as Bethlehem Steel. An avid Penn State Football fan and alumnus, he was a season ticket holder for four decades. A graduate of Catasauqua High School, he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a resident of Fellowship Community. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his stepsons George Yanoshik, Jr. of Phoenixville, David Yanoshik of Bethlehem Township, sister Marjorie Kunkle and brother Douglas Oswald.
There will be a 12 pm graveside funeral service officiated by Pastor Phil Yerrington on Friday, March 8, 2024. Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA.
