Obituary for George A. "Dizz" Lackner Jr.
George "Dizz" A. Lackner Jr., 73 years of Whitehall died Wednesday February 16, 2012 in St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown. On September 12, 2011 he and his wife Faith (Heckman) Lackner were married 52 years. Born in Limeport he was the son of the late George A. Lackner Sr. and the late Irene (Leabold) Lackner. George worked as a knitting mechanic for Fairtex , Fabknit and Starknit. Mills before joining the former Dent Manufacturing as a fabricator and retiring after many years. He was a lifetime member of Grouse Hall Fish and Game and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed pinochle and rummy but his true love was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. George attended the Egypt Community Church. Surviving with his wife are son George A Lackner III of Coplay, daughter Monica wife of Fred Nederostek of Coplay, three grandchildren Nicole, Heather and Matthew, two great grandchildren Logan and Laney. George has two brothers, Richard of Warsaw, MO, William husband of Rose Lackner of Whitehall, sister, Marlene wife of Scott Boeman of Gilbert, Pa. George was preceded in death by a brother Dennis. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev.Gary L. Walbert at 11:00am Monday February 20 in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. A viewing will be 10:00am until 11:00am Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place Bethlehem, Pa. 18017
