Obituary for George F. James
George F. James, 82, of Coplay, PA. passed away on March 21, 2021. Formally of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John D. James, SR. & Magdalen L. (Gemmel) James.
George was the husband of the late Janet D. James who celebrated 58 years of marriage prior to her passing in August of 2018. George was a graduate of Catasauqua High School where he excelled in basketball and football. He later served proudly in the U.S. Army. George was later employed in the Computer Center at PPL where he happily retired after 38 years of employment.
George was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua. He was also a Scoutmaster at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church for Pack #51.
George loved to travel, camping and fishing. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children; sons, David James, and wife Angel; Chris James and wife, Cindy; brother, Kenneth, and wife Dorothy; sister, Marie McKittrick; grandchildren, Maxwell, Michaela, Abigail, Tara, Drew, and Colby; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother John and sister Betty Ann.
A calling period will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Coplay 327 Chestnut Street from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Funeral service will be private. Due to current restrictions, we ask that all in attendance wear a facial mask and adhere to all social distancing guidelines.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua 210 Pine Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032.
