Obituary for George G. Sevart Jr.
George G. Sevart Jr., 78 years of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, died Friday July 5th, 2013 at Lehigh Commons in Macungie. He was the husband of Ruth (New) Sevart of Macungie and they recently celebrated 52 years of marriage in June of this year. Born in Allentown, he was the son of George G. Sr. and Bessie M. (Umberger) Sevart. George was a long time member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown where he was a member of the Henritzy class, a class officer, and served on the church’s board of trustees. George retired as a head custodian from the Allentown School District. Prior to that he worked for over 18 years as an Apprentice Coordinator at the Bethlehem Steel Co. He also worked at the Allentown Hospital in the Credit Department. George was an Army veteran and a Mason with the F&AM #813 Lehigh Valley Day Lodge. George was a graduate of Grove City College. Surviving along with his wife Ruth, are his daughter Deborah and husband Alan Giancaterino; son Scott Sevart and wife Marta; daughter Beverly and husband Christian Malinowski; daughter Beth Sevart; grandchildren AnnaLia, Pierce, Camerone, Eric, Kenneth, Anthony, Jolie, and Alyson. Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday July 13th, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, 18104. There will be a calling period from 10-11am Saturday in the parlor of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Food Ministry care of the church.
