Obituary for George R. Green
George R. Green, 92, of Slatington, passed away on December 28, 2020, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. He was the beloved husband of Martha L. (Gogel) Green. They were married for 72 years. Born in Walnutport, he was the son of the late Roy A. and Grace E. (Hartley) Green.
George worked as a carpenter for over 40 years for Carpenter's Lehigh Valley Local 600 before his retirement in 1990. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Slatington. George also enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. He was a past president of Blue Mountain Fish and Game.
He is survived by two sons, Richard A. Green and wife Dianne of Catasauqua; Kevin A. Green and wife Mary Lee of New Castle; and daughter in law Cindy of Carlisle; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Green of Walnutport. He was predeceased by son Keith A. Green, grandson Kyle J. Green and sister Ruth Gogel.
