Obituary for George R. Kraynek, Sr.
George R. Kraynek, Sr., 84 years of Catasauqua, passed away on March 25, 2015. He was the husband of the late Kathleen C. (Pascoe) Kraynek to whom he was married for 63 years. Born June 17, 1930 in North Catasauqua he was the son of the late John Kraynek and Margaret (Groman) Fassman. George was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Catasauqua. He worked for the Central Railroad of New Jersey as a Trackman intermittently from 1949 to 1972. He also worked for Whitehall Manor Construction for 10 years. He retired from Phoenix Forging Co., Catasauqua, in 1992 after 20 years of service. He loved feeding the deer, ducks and feral cats in the Community. He was a familiar sight in Catty walking his dog “Misty” and driving his light blue ’86 Chevy Truck. He is survived by his son George, Jr., and his wife Susan of Kutztown, daughters Barbara and her husband Larry Ritter of Whitehall; Kathleen and her husband Anthony Vaglica of Silver Spring, MD.; brother Joseph Fassman of Allentown, sister Gail Kelly of Fremont, IN; grandchildren Jason Kraynek of Chicago, IL, Andrew Kraynek and his wife K’La of Fremont, CA, Adam Huffort and his wife Cyrena of Coplay, Ryan Huffort of Whitehall, Tara Vaglica and Anthony Vaglica of Silver Spring, MD; Great-Grandchildren: Jocelyn and Nathan Huffort of Coplay. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Monday March 30th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church of the Annunciation, 122 W. Union Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032. His viewing will be 8:30-9:30am Monday at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to any animal rescue of your choice.
