Obituary for Geraldine V. Deily
Geraldine Viola (Loch) Knecht Deily 88 formerly of Catasauqua and recently at Luther Crest passed away on August 15th. Born in Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late Viola (Anglestein) and Phaon Loch. She was the widow of LeRoy Knecht and Robert Deily.
Geraldine was a Catasauqua High School graduate, class of 1945 and a Penn State fan. She was the first day care teacher in the Lehigh Valley starting at the Catasauqua Presbyterian Church and was also involved with W.I.C. in Allentown. Geraldine was a former active member of Salem U.C.C. of Catasauqua where she was also a Sunday school teacher. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies, potato salad, smiley face pancakes, fun loving attitude, and tardiness.
Geraldine is survived by sons Larry (Donna), Dale (Deb), and daughter Juliann Paladino (Phil), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by sisters Dorothy, Mildred, Gladys, and Gloria, she enjoyed her family including many nieces and nephews. Although she will be missed by many; she had a great ride.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday August 22th, 2016 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 10-11am Monday at the funeral home.
