Obituary for Goldie E. "Sally" Gruber
Goldie E. aka Sally Gruber of Catasauqua died November 8, 2012. Born January 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Quintus & Helen (Rabenold) Haydt. She is survived by her husband, Floyd E Gruber. They celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 6th. Goldie graduated from the Catasauqua High School in 1945. She worked at the former Smith Candy Company as a bookkeeper. She was a wife, mother & grandmother Prior to her illness, Goldie & her husband enjoyed the role of snow birds. They spent 20years living in their winter home in Kissimmee near Disney World. They both liked spending time at the Disney parks. Goldie was also an avid fan of football, especially watching Penn State and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be remembered for courage & strength by her family and friends. Goldie is survived by her son David Floyd Gruber and his wife Peggy. She is also survived by her daughter Sara Jane Gruber and by her grandchildren. Grandsons: Lucas Morgan & his fiancée Kimberly and Ryan B. Gruber and his wife Emily. Granddaughters: Janelle B. Gruber and her companion Jessie, Tracy L. Gruber and Jenna C. Gruber. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Goldie to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017. The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements.
