Obituary for Harriet K. Richards
Harriet Kelso Richards, 89, of Philadelphia, died on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia. Harriet was born in Allentown, and was the daughter of the late Hannah E. (Jones) and Leonard E. Richards. Harriet graduated from Catasauqua High School in 1942 and from Penn State University in 1945. She retired after working for 40 years as a Medical Researcher at the Veterans Administrations Hospital in Philadelphia. She was a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and was very active in The Photographic Society of America winning awards for her photographs. Surviving relatives Brian McKittrick and his wife Jean of Catasauqua, Leonard McKittrick and his wife Irene of Center Valley; Kyle McKittrick and his wife Karlene and their sons, Liam and Nolin; and Matthew McKittrick and his wife Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by Eddezs McKittrick and John Schelhamer. Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday October 22nd at Fairview Cemetery, Whitehall. Contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
