Obituary for Harriet R. Edwards
Harriet R. Edwards, 99 years of Allentown died Friday January 3, 2014 in the Phoebe Home of Allentown. She was the wife of the late Charles S. Edwards. Born in Shenandoah, Pa. she was the daughter of the late George and Clara (Harsly) Roberts. Harriet was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown since 1954 where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a 1936 graduate of Hood College of Frederick, MD. with degrees in History and French. Harriet was a housewife and homemaker and spent her time with her children: daughter Nancy J. wife of Perry Kutzler of Bethlehem, son Richard O. husband of Susan Edwards of The Villages, Florida, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Eric Yeakel at 11:00am on Friday January 10, 2014 in Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, Pa. 18104. Her viewing will be from 10:00am until 11:00am Friday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to the Asbury Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, Pa. 18104 or to Phoebe Ministries 1925 Turner Street Allentown, Pa. 18104.
