Obituary for Harvey U. Silvius
Harvey U. Silvius, 87 years, formerly of Catasauqua, died Tuesday October 11th, 2016 at his residence at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Vandergrift) Silvius. Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harvey U. and Mabel M. (Keller) Silvius.
Harvey was a long time member of the Salem U.C.C. in Catasauqua where he also worked for many years as a custodian. He loved working with his hands, helping people and spending time with his grandchildren. Harvey served his country in the army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his daughters Pat Gillette and Donna Silvius; brother Charles; sisters Stella Gallagher and Emma Price; grandchildren Jessica, Andrea, Allison, Jamie wife of Justin Ciulla; 1 great granddaughter Avah. He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Memorial Services will be held at 11am Friday October 14th, 2016 at Salem U.C.C., 615 Third St. Catasauqua, 18032. There will be a calling period Friday from 10-11am at the church.
