Obituary for Heinz W. Wendland
Heinz W. Wendland, 85 years of Whitehall passed away peacefully April 2, 2016 in Whitehall. He is the husband of Theresa (Haffner) Wendland of Whitehall and celebrated 62 years of marriage in August of 2015. Born in Germany he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Charlotte (Koslowski) Wendland.
Heinz retired in 1987 from Mack Trucks of Allentown as a supervisor after over 25 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Allentown. Heinz loved his gardening and was a “Jack of All Trades”. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
Surviving with his wife Theresa are sons Michael Wendland and his wife Theresa, Thomas Wendland and his wife Ange, Timothy Wendland, daughters Theresa Eddinger and husband Michael and Christine Snyder and husband Eric. He was fondly called Opa by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephanie, Michael, Andrew, James , Megan, Jillian, Thomas, Robert, Samantha and great grandson Noah. He was preceded in death by brothers Erwin and Walter and a sister Kate all of Germany.
His funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. His viewing will be 9:30am until 11:00am Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment is Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allentown.
