Obituary for Helen Gaston
Helen Gaston 78 years of Walnutport died Sunday September 13, 2009 in her residence. She and her husband Charles Gaston celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary February 2009. Born in Stiles she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Muha) Ferreira. Helen was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of N. Catasauqua where she sang on the choir, served with the church board and volunteered with the ladies guild. She had worked for 20 years as a seamstress in the garment industry in the Slatington area before retiring and was previously employed with Western Electric. Surviving with her husband are son Michael Gaston of Walnutport, sister Mary wife of Walter Arndt of Emmaus, brother John husband of Barbara Ferreira of Whitehall and grandsons Michael and Lucas. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday September 17 in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church 1023 5th Street N. Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Call 10:00am until 11:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in her name payable to the Church Dome Restoration Fund.
