Obituaries
Hilda J. Kerbacher, 93, formally of Coplay and Catasauqua, died peacefully, Friday, January 3, 2025, at Phoebe Home in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Daniel S. Kerbacher and was married 58 years before his passing in 2008.
Born in Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late James Haldeman and Sarah Longenbach.
Hilda was a former member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic in Coplay. She worked as a sewing machine operator for many years at Universal Slacks in Allentown. She also worked in packing at Durkee’s spices in Bethlehem before her retirement. Hilda was very social and loved games of chance, going to the casino, and bingo.
Hilda loved spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a dedicated and selfless person. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are daughter, Karen, wife of Frank M. Dreisbach, of Orefield; sons, Dr. Daniel J. Kerbacher and his wife, Deborah, of Berwick, Dr. James J. Kerbacher and his wife, Karen, of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Beth, Christopher, Daniel, Amy, Brian, Mariel, Jillian, great grandchildren Brennen, Myra, Mika, Belle, Ezra and Jonas and nephew Sterling Haldeman and wife Sue, and sister-in-law Esther Haldeman. She was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Rose and a granddaughter Katie.
A calling period will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024, from 09:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 4 S. 5th Street, Coplay, PA. 18037. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am. in the church. Interment to immediately follow at the church cemetery.
