Obituary for Irene A. Lackner
Irene A. Lackner 90 years, of Hokendauqua died Tuesday April 5, 2011 In Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice unit, Allentown. She was the wife of the late George A. Lackner Sr. Born in Coplay she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Annie (Rehrig) Leabold. She was a long time member of the Northampton Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses and was baptized as a Jehovah Witness three years ago. Irene worked as a cook for a variety of places in the Lehigh Valley and she enjoyed embroidery and making afghans for others and especially for her grandchildren. Surviving are daughter Marlene wife of Scott Boeman of Gilbert, Pa. sons George A. Lackner Jr. husband of Faith Lackner of Whitehall, Richard D. Lackner of Warsaw, MO., William F. husband of Rose Lackner of Whitehall, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Dennis, six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be officiated by David Gensenleiter at 11:00am Saturday April 9, 2011 in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua 18032. Call 7:00pm until 8:30pm Friday and 10:00am until 11:00am Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to the Lehigh Valley Hospice c/o the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc.
