Obituary for James W. Plessl
James W. Plessl, 45, of Coplay, passed away on June 22, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the son of John Thomas of Coplay and the late Caroline (Miller) Plessl-Thomas.
James was a 1999 graduate of Whitehall High School and worked at Giant in Coplay for over 20 years. He loved to watch WWE wrestling, go to casinos, eat at a variety of restaurants, and play video games. He played in the Special Olympics for over 25 years. James was always a joy to be around, and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, John, he will be lovingly remembered by siblings Cheryl, wife of Gary Urban, of Fogelsville, Diana, wife of Brad Rohrbaugh, of Whitehall, and Tina Thomas of Catasauqua. He will also be survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6-7:45 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA 18037. A memorial service will follow officiated by Pastor Melanie Stephens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James’ name to Lehigh County Special Olympics or the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition of the Lehigh Valley, both c/o the funeral home, 18037.
