Obituaries
Jeffrey A. Luhrs, 66, formerly of Reading, died peacefully at his home in Northampton, Saturday, February 8, 2025, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Amy J. Capwell. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Jarvis) Luhrs.
Jeffrey graduated from SUNY Oswego where he majored in Russian. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a radio operator during the Cold War era. Jeff worked for many years as an insurance adjuster for Allstate Insurance.
Jeff had a passion for learning. He loved the outdoors. He loved frogs, turtles and snakes and just spending time in his garden.
Above all, he was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend and will be missed by many.
Surviving along with this wife Amy are his son Benjamin Luhrs, daughter Emily Luhrs, brother Richard Luhrs and wife Mary, and many in-laws.
A calling period will be held from 6-8pm Monday, February 17, 2025, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. Graveside services will be held at 10am Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Green Meadow at Fountain Hill Cemetery, 1121 Graham St, Fountain Hill, PA 18015.
