Obituaries
Jennie (Boruch) Menio,96, of North Catasauqua, passed away May 16th, 2024. She was the wife of the late John Menio who passed in 2020. They were happily married for 70 years.
Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of Theodore Boruch and Catharina (Grabel). She was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton, PA.
Jennie had a love for cooking and baking and she would share her talents with everyone. Everyone loved eating her kiffels. She was very proud of her families’ accomplishments and loved to brag about them.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the L. V. Assembly, 4th degree Knights of Columbus.
She was an office employee at Cross Country Clothes, Northampton. She also worked as a part time clerk at Hess North. She loved being a part of Friendly Fifties. She served as the president for many years. She also was the Treasurer of the St John’s Ladies Auxiliary.
Jennie and John were a beloved couple who could be seen polka dancing just about anywhere. Some of their favorite places were the Coplay Saengerbund, Allentown Fair, and Musikfest. They also enjoyed being each other’s travel companions. Their adventures brought many laughs and stories that are still being talked about today.
She is survived by daughter Eugenia Emert, wife of the late Harvey Emert, Catasauqua and sons, Dr. John Menio, wife Mary, of Shavertown, PA and Dr. Gregory Menio, wife Elizabeth, Gibsonia, PA. Jennie had nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Predeceased by sisters Anna Gehris and Nancy Drabick, brothers Basil and Vladimir
There will be a calling period on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 09:00 – 10:30 am. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Newport Ave., Northampton. An interment will immediately follow mass at the church cemetery on Main Street.
