Obituaries
John was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Coplay. He worked for 32 years as a machine operator for General Electric before retiring in 1985. John started his band the Johnny Dee Orchestra in 1954. The band played in all the local clubs, Musikfest, and many Polka Weekends finally retiring in January of 2014. He also shared the stage with Walt Groller and Joe Kroboth. John was an avid NY Yankees fan and was a member of the Saengerbund in Coplay. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his son John A. Domitrovits of Whitehall; brother Joe Domitrovits and wife Geraldine of Northampton; sisters Elsie Mondschein and Margaret Petrasovits both of Coplay; grandchildren Kristi Domitrovits of Northampton, Adam and Kari Domitrovits of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by a son David.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Thursday April 20th, 2017 St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 4 S. 5th St. Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held at 7-8:30pm Wednesday, April 19th and Thursday 9-10AM at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 CHESTNUT STREET COPLAY, PA 18037, formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
