Obituary for John A. Shedlock
John A. Shedlock, 90 years, of Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton and formerly of Crane Street, Catasauqua died Saturday, June 30 in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Matika) Shedlock. Born in Northampton he was the son of the late Matis and Veronica (Tkac) Sedlak. John was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church of N.Catasauqua. He was employed as a machinist for Mack Trucks of Allentown 43 years before retiring. John received the Boy Scout’s Silver Beaver Award during his many years of dedication to scouting. Surviving are two daughters, Martha Shedlock of Harrisburg, PA and Mary Beth “Norka” Shedlock of Trencin, Slovakia, four sons Joseph husband of Linda, Coeur d' Alene, ID, Thomas husband of Donna of Northampton, PA, John husband of Lisa of W. Warwick, RI and Andrew husband of Miyako-Fujiwara of Boston, MA. John is also survived by a sister, Veronica Galm of N.Catasauqua and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday in St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1229 Third Street, N. Catasauqua. Call 7:00pm until 8:30pm Friday and 8:30am until 9:30am Saturday in the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the church.
