Obituary for John B. Desrosiers, Jr.
John B. Desrosiers, Jr. 90 of Cedarbrook in Allentown, formerly of Breinigsville and Catasauqua, died September 4, 2009 at the Lehigh Valley Hospice of Allentown. He was a son of the late John B. Sr. and Eva (Pineault) Desrosiers. He was married to Lucille Fay (Cunningham) and would have celebrated their 30th Anniversary in September of this year. Before retiring in 1983, he worked for thirty years as a Jeweler Division Manager for Sears Roebuck & Co. He was a life member for over fifty-six years of the B.P.O. Elks and the American Legion of Mahanoy City, PA. John was a World War II Navy Veteran serving as a helmsman on a mine sweeper during D-Day at Omaha Beach and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. Surviving along with his wife is his son John B. Desrosiers, III, Grandchildren Michael Desrosiers, Daniel Desrosiers, Bradley Desrosiers, Kristy Desrosiers and Melissa Bartos. Sister Jill Sherknesw of Keensburg, NJ. Brother Ernest Desrosiers, of Mahanoy City, PA. Daughter-in-law Debbie Desrosiers and Sister-in-law Gloria Cloud. Brother-in-law Robert Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carol. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 417 Howertown Road, Catasauqua, PA 18032. There will be a calling period from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Church prior to the service on Wednesday.
