Obituary for John "Jack" B. Brelsford
John "Jack" B. Brelsford,80, of Allentown passed away on Friday, September 05, 2014. He was the husband of Carole E. (Roach) Brelsford and would celebrate their 54th anniversary on September 17th. Born in Allentown, John was the son of the late Byron and Esther (Knauss) Brelsford. Jack was passionate about his family and church. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 54 years. Jack retired after 34 years as a Purchasing Supervisor from AT&T, formerly known as Western Electric. He volunteered as a teacher's aide at Washington Elementary for many years where he was known as "Mr. B." and spent years as a Meals On Wheels volunteer. Jack loved golfing, collecting music and reading. He and Carole traveled extensively and enjoyed their annual family beach vacations. Jack graduated from William Allen H.S., attended Moravian College and served his country in the Army. Surviving along with his wife Carole are his daughters Jill, wife of Chris Henry, Cathy, wife of Tim Golden, Jennifer, wife of Mike Oswald; eight grandchildren: Amanda, Connor, Nathan, Hannah, Mitch, Jack, Ned and Maria; brother-in-law Warren Keller, nephew Dave Keller, niece Sallie, wife of Pete Smith; great niece Avery. He was preceded in death by his sister June Keller. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104. A calling period will be held at the church from 9:30 am - 11:00 am on Wednesday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, New York, NY 10004.
