Obituary for John M. "Jack" Ihm
John M. “Jack” Ihm, 89 years of Allentown died peacefully Wednesday August 1, 2012 in Luther Crest Allentown. He and his wife Dorothy J. (Crozier) Ihm would have celebrated their 69 wedding anniversary August 23, 2012. Born in Altoona he was the son of the late James J. and Minnie (Reid) Ihm. Jack was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Allentown where he served as church usher, an adult Sunday school teacher and as a lay leader. He served on the Board of Directors of the Allentown Rescue Mission. He retired from the Allentown office of Bell of PA..as Director of the Executive Communication Center having worked previously in the Altoona, Clearfield, Reading and Harrisburg offices. He was a United States Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Surviving with his wife are daughters Linda wife of Harvey Joseph of Bethlehem, Cathy wife of Lawrence Dugan of Allentown, sons John R. husband of Frances Ihm of Coplay and Mark R. husband of Patricia Ihm of Kutztown. Jack has five grandchildren Matthew husband of Melissa Dugan, Damien husband of Tracy Dugan, Jennifer Bell, Rebecca Del Villar and Bethany Joseph and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Oswald, brothers James and Paul Ihm. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Saturday August 4, 2012 in Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, Pa. 18104. Call 2:00pm until time of services Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name payable to the church, to the Allentown Rescue Mission or to the Luther Crest Memorial Benevolent Fund c/o the Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.
