Obituary for John T. Gillette
John T. Gillette, 79 years went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday December 21, 2012 at the Phoebe Home of Allentown. Born in Lehighton he was the son of the late John C. and Mary (Cherowich) Gillette. Surviving are daughters Yvonne Leeser, Christina Ryan, Cherryl O’Donnell wife of Michael; sisters Agnes Berg, Elizabeth Arey, Mary Ann Sterner, Angela Resh, Therese Gillette and Margaret Rawson; brothers Joseph, Paul, Peter, Edward, Anthony and Timothy Gillette. John has seven grandchildren Shannon, Phillip and Stephen Ryan and Taylor, Fallon, Ryan and Payton O’Donnell and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Christopher, niece Patty Arey and nephew Terry Gillette. John was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church of Orefield. He worked for more than forty years for the National Security Agency as a cryptologist for which he received many awards. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Redskins fan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday December 29, 2012 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Second and Union Streets Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Call 8:30am until 9:30am Saturday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua, 18032. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be payable in his name to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital c/o of the funeral home.
