Obituary for Joseph A. Todaro, Sr.
Joseph A. Todaro, Sr., 84, of North Catasauqua, died Thursday January 29th, 2009 in the Hospice of the V.N.A. of St. Lukes Hospital, Saucon Valley. He was the husband of the late Teresa F. M. (Quigley) Todaro. Born in Philipsburg, N.J. he was a son of the late Sebastian and Anna (Insana) Todaro. Joseph was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church of North Catasauqua where he was also a life member of their Holy Name Society. He was also a life member of the VFW Post 4714 of Northampton, Catasauqua American Legion Post #215 and the Fullerton Fire Company. Joseph was a WWII Army veteran serving in the 179th Combat Engineers under General Patton’s 3rd Army in the European Theatre. He was also a charter member of the WWII Memorial. Joseph worked for 30 years for the P.B. & N.E. Railroad before retiring in 1983. Surviving are his son Joseph A. Jr. and his wife Kristine of Orefield; daughter Janet A. and her husband Douglas Wallace of Bethlehem; sisters Rose Gianetto of Palm Springs, CA and Anne Grando of Palmer Township; 6 grandchildren Diane, Christina, Jenna, Peter, John and Claire. Joseph is also survived by a niece and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11am Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1001 Second Street, N. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 9:30am-10:30am at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Joseph’s name to V.N.A. of St. Luke’s, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem, 18017.
