Obituary for Joseph J. DeRosa
Joseph J. DeRosa, 94, passed away on August 21, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Frank DeRosa and Filomena Gretano. He was the husband of Marlene (Rhinehart) DeRosa and shared 49 years of marriage this past June.
Joseph graduated from high school and then enlisted in the United States Army where he served during the Korean war.
He was employed at the former IDEAL toy company for 37 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Joseph was a die-hard Yankees fan! He loved Lionel model trains HO series. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He will be lovingly remembered his wife; Marlene; sons; Dean DeRosa and fiancé Nikole Czelosta, Joseph DeRosa and wife Jerilyn Covert; daughters; Diana Poliseno and Linda Beggins; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; his two cats, Lilly and Holly, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday August 25, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032. A funeral service officiated by Father Tolentino will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Allentown.
