Obituaries
Joseph Tiwold, Sr., 89 of Whitehall passed away on August 6, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his family. Born in Allentown on March 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles and Cecilie (Schneller) Tiwold.
He was the husband of the late Charlotte (Krikovich) Tiwold with whom he shared 52 years of marriage prior to her passing in June of 2012.
He served honorably in the US Army in Korea during Peacetime.
Joseph worked in the beam yard as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel retiring after 45 years of service. Upon retirement, he babysat his twin granddaughters. He was a wonderful Dad and Pop Pop.
He was a longtime, faithful member of St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Coplay where he was an usher. He genuinely loved his church.
Joseph was a lifetime member of the Coplay Saengerbund and loved Polka music and dancing. Above all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon K. Tiwold and son Joseph Tiwold, Jr. and wife Lisa, three grandchildren: Megan Tiwold-Kramer and her husband Cody, Erin Wilson and her husband Zack and grandson Joseph R. Tiwold. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Luka and Lincoln Wilson and his companion AnnaMarie Schanta. He was predeceased by 11 siblings and has one surviving sister.
A calling period will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay from 9-10 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 4 S 5th St., Coplay. Interment to follow mass at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the church.
