Obituary for Joseph V. Tomasic
Joseph V. Tomasic, 86 years of Catasauqua died Friday July 30, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice Unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Mary A. (Lalik) Tomasic celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary in May. Born in Hokendauqua he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Anna (Krivensky) Tomasic. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church of N. Catasauqua, a member and former Commander of the Hokendauqua American Legion Post # 739 and served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII in France, Germany and England. Joseph retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a foreman after 40 years of service. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling with his family. Surviving with his wife are daughter Roseann wife of Michael Mohn of Nazareth, sons Joseph husband of Joann Tomasic of Valparaiso, Indiana, Thomas husband of Diane Tomasic of Northampton, sisters Margaret Horwath and Theresa Rogers and brothers John and George Tomasic. Joseph has six grandchildren Joseph, Jennine, Thomas, Kelly, Mark, Jacqueline and Michael and three great grandchildren Hadley, Sophia and Tye. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Hobel, Elizabeth Millen, brothers Thomas, Andrew and Michael. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday August 3 in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church 1229 Third Street N. Catasauqua,18032. Call 6:00pm until 8:30pm Monday and 8:30am until 9:30am Tuesday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street Catasauqua. The interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the church or to the American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place Bethlehem, Pa. 18017.
