Obituary for Josephine "Sophie" Wersching
Josephine “Sophie” Wersching, 83 years formerly of Catasauqua died Monday June 27, 2011 in The Phoebe Home of Richlandtown. Born in Yugoslavia She was the daughter of the late Johan and Magdalane (Helfrich) Wersching. Sophie was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Catasauqua. She was employed for many years for the former Fairtex Mills, Boise Cascade and Mail Well. She loved gardening, knitting and crocheting. Sophie’s greatest love in her life was to be with family including nieces Rosalie Blobe of Coopersburg, Magdalane McGinley of Bethlehem, nephews John Lutje of Allentown, Joseph Wassa of Macungie and her great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Maria Haas and Rosalia Wassa. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday July 1, 2011 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Second and Union Streets Catasauqua, Pa. 18032. Call 9:00am until 10:00am Friday in the church. The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be given in her name to the church.
