Obituary for Kathleen Ebert
Kathleen Ebert, 94, of Coplay, passed away on Thursday August 3rd, 2017 at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Raymond D. Ebert. Born in Widnes, Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lucy (Aldred) Gillett.
Kathleen met her husband Raymond in the USAF in 1943. They were married February 3rd, 1945. She arrived in the U.S.A. on May 3rd, 1946. During the War, she was a telephone operator with British Telecom. She then worked in the cafeteria at Whitehall High School from 1966-1985.
She was a member of Trinity U.C.C. in Coplay, where she taught Sunday School and was on the choir for 21 years. She also volunteered at Phoebe Home for 25 years before becoming a resident there.
Survivors include sons James and his wife Janet of Whitehall, Daryl of Whitehall, Paul of Coplay, and David of Whitehall, a sister Sheila Gillett of Lytham St. Anne’s, England, grandchildren, Heather McMahon, Shawn Ebert, and Jamie Ebert, and a great grandson Michael McMahon. She was predeceased by sons John and Dale and a sister Eileen Blose.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday August 8th, 2017 at Trinity U.C.C. 17 N. 3rd St. Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held from 9:00-10:30AM on Tuesday at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Peaceable Kingdom Inc. 1049 MacArthur Rd. Whitehall, PA 18052 or to an animal charity of one’s choice.
