Obituary for Kathryn W. Nevins
Kathryn W. Nevins, 91, formerly of Whitehall, died Thursday, October 12, at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Northampton, where she resided for the past four years. Born in Fullerton, She was the daughter of the late George F. and Sadie A. (Wohlbach) Schildt. Her husband, Samuel L. Nevins, Jr., died October 9, 1973. She was a school teacher in the Whitehall-Coplay school system, starting as a first grade teacher in Egypt, and ending her career as the kindergarten teacher in the West Catasauqua School. She retired in 1973. She is survived by her daughters; Mary Anne Broadhurst and her husband Gerry, of Barto, and Kathleen B. Nevins of Bethlehem.; grandsons Michael A. Bandle of Arlington, Texas and Stephen M. Bandle, and his wife, Dana of Bowers; granddaughter, Gina M. Henn, and her husband Deric of Hamburg; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandson David J. Bandle in 1983; sister Marjorie W. Egan in 1994, and brothers Kenneth Schildt in 1992 and Douglas Schildt in infancy. A Memorial Service will be held 10am Monday, October 16th at the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 9:30-10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Garden of Peach cemetery in Fullerton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
