Obituary for Kenneth N. James
Kenneth N. James, 89, of Whitehall, died March 15, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the loving husband of Dorothy A. (Henits) James and together they celebrated 68 years of marriage together. Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late John D. and Magdalen L. (Gemmel) James.
Ken was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua. He was a talented carpenter and retired from the Bethlehem Steel where he was the Foreman of the Carpenters Gang. After retiring he ran his own lawncare and maintenance business for many years. Ken graduated from Catasauqua High School where he played basketball. Ken loved the outdoors, especially his fishing trips to Canada with his brothers and son.
Surviving along with his wife, Dorothy, are his son Jeff J. James and wife Loretta; grandsons Jason and wife Jen, Ian, and Evan and wife Crystal; great grandson Owen Philip James; sister Marie McKittrick and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his daughter Diane Marie.
Memorial services will be at 11am Thursday March 23, 2023 at the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St. Catasauqua, PA 18032. There will be a calling period before the service from 10:30-11am at the church. Memorial contributions in his memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
