Obituary for Kermit W. Wenzel
Kermit W. Wenzel, 88, originally from Whitehall, passed away on January 30, 2022, at Lutheran Meadows in Topton. He was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne A. Wenzel for 59 years of marriage before her passing in January of 2013. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William and Mollie Wenzel.
Kermit was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran who honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of William Allen High School and went on to achieve his bachelor’s degree in education from Kutztown University. He was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. Kermit was extremely artistic and enjoyed painting. He also loved spending time at the casino.
Kermit will be lovingly remembered by his entire family. He is survived by children, Terri, wife of Robert Dougherty of Nazareth, Simone, wife of Kevin Yanders of Germansville, and Stephen Wenzel and wife, Jennifer of Blandon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Yvonne, he was predeceased by his daughter, Holly S. Siegfried.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow at parish cemetery. Contributions may be made in Kermit’s memory to St. Peter’s Church. Online condolences may be recorded at www.brubakerfuneralhome.com.
