Obituary for Kurt W. Gerhard
Kurt W. Gerhard, 62 years, of North Catasauqua passed away on Sunday October 19, 2014 in the beautiful home he built for his family in 1976. Both of his daughters were right by his side. He was the husband of the late Theresa A. (Gillespie) Gerhard. Born in Catasauqua he was the son of Richard E. Gerhard and the late Ethel (Gogel) Gerhard. Kurt owned and operated Gerhard Construction and Gerhard Siding Service for nearly 20 years. He was previously employed by Bracy Contracting and most recently owned and operated Gerhard Home Improvements. He loved to spend time in the Pocono Mts. and in the past was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed trips to Colorado, Montana and Canada. In earlier years his passion was for riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of St. John Fisher Church, N. Catasauqua. Survivors: Daughter, Melissa, wife of Will Brown of N. Catasauqua; daughter, Nicole, wife of Joe Gomes of Catasauqua; granddaughter, Tyra Brown; grandson Cole Brown; twin granddaughters Eva and Mia Gomes; father, Richard Gerhard; Richard’s companion, Julie Guldner; brother, Richard Gerhard Jr.; sister, Janice Jones; brother-in-law Jerry Gillespie; sister-in-law, Peggy Gillespie. Kurt was predeceased in death by his brother, Jeffry Gerhard. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am Friday October24th, 2014 at the Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. There will be a calling period from 10-11am Friday at the funeral home.
