Obituaries
Latta was an active member of the former St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catasauqua and later Holy Trinity in Catasauqua. He worked as a toolmaker for over 40 years for the former Western Electric and Agere before his retirement.
He was a Mason for Porter Lodge #284. He sang in various church choirs, was a member of Minstrelaires of Macungie and CAST.
He enjoyed golfing at area golf courses and playing cards. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his children; son Jonathan L. Heil and wife Jessica; daughters Deborah Neihardt and husband Samuel III, Jennifer Zanger and husband John, son, Lester Washburn and wife Connie, daughters, Debra Mittura and husband Marty and Diane Smith and fiancé Brian Ament; brother, Richard C. Heil and wife Joan and sister Mary Ann Hohe as well as three grandchildren, five step grandchildren, one step great-granddaughter and extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by one sister and step grandson Scottie.
A calling period will be held at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut Street, Catasauqua, PA. 18032 on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Allentown.
