Obituary for Lawrence J. "Larry" Sperlbaum
Lawrence “Larry” J. Sperlbaum, 90 years, of Catasauqua died Monday, August 30th, 2010 at Above and Beyond at Mountain View in Allentown. He was a son of the late Edward F. and Helena (Sillers) Sperlbaum, Sr. Lawrence was owner/operator of a barber shop in Catasauqua for 55 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Catasauqua. He was a WWII army veteran, a past commander and a gold card life member of the American Legion Post #215 in Catasauqua and a former drum major for the Catasauqua Drum and Bugle Corps. Survivors include his brother Edward F. Sperlbaum, Jr. of Catasauqua and Larry’s companion Marlene Wittman of Catasauqua and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister Marie Gutlever. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church 122 Union Street Catasauqua. Call 9:00am until 10:00am in the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the church. The Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Catasauqua is in charge of arrangements.
