Obituaries
Linda A. Berger, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Clifford H. and Betty May (Kincher) Bocherer.
She was the loving wife of Robert “Sonny” Rinker with whom she shared 37 years of marriage this past October.
Linda was a graduate of Allen High School. As a teen she worked at a stand in the Farmer’s Market in Allentown.
She was employed for CDS. After retirement, she worked at JCS as a home health aide and took pride in caring for those assigned to her care.
Linda loved bingo and trips to Foxwood’s Casino in Connecticut. She loved animals and breakfast from McDonald’s in Whitehall. Above all, she loved her family and friends most. She was a loving, caring and kind Mother who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Robert “Sonny” Rinker, son William “Bill” Berger, daughter Jody L. Berger, brother John Bocherer and wife Rosie, sister Cathy L. Bocherer and partner Richard, sister-in-law Gail Bocherer, stepdaughter Brooke Emmerik and husband Nick, her grand dog Lady Bug and her chubby little squirrels that she often fed. She was predeceased by her brother Michael G. Bocherer, stepson Beau Rinker and her best friend Irene Bortz.
There will be a memorial visitation on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 12-1 pm at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Anthony Mertz will follow in the parlor at 1 pm.
