Obituary for Lois C. Oranczak

Lois C. Oranczak, 91 years, of Lehigh Township (formerly of Catasauqua) died Friday, May 17, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Health Network/Muhlenberg under hospice care and with her daughters by her side.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Armat and Dorothea (Behler) Gillespie. She and her late husband, Nicholas Oranczak, were blessed to have celebrated 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2019.

A 1950 graduate of Catasauqua High School, Lois furthered her education in nursing at the Haff Hospital in Northampton. She was a lifelong active member of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, and devoted her life to her faith and her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Rita, wife of Mike Millhouse; Holly, wife of Ben Ferenchak; and LeeAnn, wife of Jeff Jacksits, with whom she resided; her seven grandchildren: Rebecca (Millhouse) Cesanek, Michael Millhouse, Kelly (Millhouse) Zick, Daniel Millhouse, Nicholas Ferenchak, Benjamin Ferenchak, and Bradley Jacksits; and her four great-grandchildren: Henry, Lucy, Katherine, and Jack. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Wayne S. Oranczak; her granddaughter Jennifer L. Jacksits; her great-granddaughter Haley T. Greer; and her sister Rita Scheetz.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered in her name to Lehigh Valley Hospice or Lehigh Valley Reilly’s Children’s Hospital at P.O. Box 1883, Allentown, PA 18105.

Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Online condolences may be made to the family at
