Obituary for Lorenzo A. Guzman

Lorenzo A. Guzman, eighty-eight of Whitehall, PA. passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest on Thursday, June 27, 2024.


Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he was the son of Miguel and Dominga. He was the husband of Emilia Jimenez De Guzman with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.


Lorenzo graduated high school in the DR and proceeded to serve in the Dominican Republic Navy earning the rank of Lieutenant. He retired from the hotel industry where he worked for over 19 years. Lorenzo was extremely proud when he became a US Citizen on February 9, 2015!


He will be fondly remembered for always dancing, smiling, and hosting at his home. He was an avid fan of boxing and enjoyed watching a good bout on the television. He was great husband, dad, grandfather, and family man. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.


He is survived by his wife Emilia, children, Miriam Guzman, Jaime Astel, Jaime Miguel, Miguel Angel, Eunice Yapul and Federico Guzman, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Pablo Sepulveda.


There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 11 am – 12 pm at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay. A funeral service will follow in the parlor at 12 pm.

Lorenzo A. Guzmán, ochenta y ocho años de Whitehall, PA. falleció pacíficamente en Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest el jueves 27 de junio de 2024. 


Nacido en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, era hijo de Miguel y Dominga. Fue esposo de Emilia Jiménez De Guzmán con quien compartió 52 años de matrimonio.


Lorenzo se graduó de la escuela secundaria en la República Dominicana y procedió a servir en la Armada de la República Dominicana obteniendo el rango de Teniente.


Se jubiló de la industria hotelera donde trabajó por más de 19 años. ¡Lorenzo estaba extremadamente orgulloso cuando se convirtió en ciudadano estadounidense el 9 de febrero de 2015!


Será recordado con cariño por siempre bailar, sonreír y ser anfitrión en su casa. Era un ávido fanático del boxeo y disfrutaba viendo un buen combate en la televisión. Fue un gran esposo, padre, abuelo y hombre de familia. Todos los que lo conocieron y amaron lo extrañarán y lo recordarán profundamente.


Le sobreviven su esposa Emilia, sus hijos, Miriam Guzmán, Jaime Astel, Jaime Miguel, Miguel Ángel, Eunice Yapul y Federico Guzmán, once nietos y cuatro bisnietos. Falleció despues que su hermano Pablo Sepúlveda.


Habrá un velorio el martes 2 de julio de 2024, de 11 a.m. a 12 p.m. en Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay. A las 12:00 horas tendrá lugar el funeral en el salón.
