Obituary for Lorraine A. Junkin
Lorraine A. Junkin, 94 years a resident of Luther Crest Retirement Community formerly of Catasauqua died Tuesday August 13th, 2013 at Luther Crest in Allentown. Born in Catasauqua she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Keichel) Junkin. She was a graduate of Catasauqua High School class of 1936 and employed as an Administrative Secretary of the Catasauqua Area School District for 32 years before retiring. Lorraine was an ordained Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, served as chair of the Session, treasurer of Presbyterian Women’s Association and treasurer of Church Women United of Catasauqua. She was a past president of the Catasauqua Junior Women’s Club, a fifty year member of the Catasauqua Women’s Club and a member of the Lehigh County Pa. Association of School Retirees. Surviving are nieces Janet Haas Cressman wife of Brad Cressman of Fogelsville, Jayne Haas Coy wife of David Coy of Catasauqua, Helen Lehr Kern wife of Larry Kern of Belvidere, NJ., Sheila Wendy Lehr of Minnesota and nephews G. William Haas Jr. and his wife Karen Haas of Emmaus and Philip A. Lehr and his wife Barbara Lehr of Greenwood Lake, NY. Lorraine has 8 great nieces, 2 great nephews, 1 great great niece and 4 great great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Junkin Lehr and Shirley Junkin Haas. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Saturday August 31st, 2013 at Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Road, Allentown, 18104. There will be a calling period from 1-2pm at Luther Crest. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in her name payable to the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua Second and Pine Streets Catasauqua, Pa. 18032.
