Lorraine T. Almazan, of Whitehall, PA (formerly of Catasauqua, PA) passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024 in the company of her family.
Lorraine was born August 16, 1935 in Minersville, PA. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Frances Witcofski. She was the wife of Dr. Antonio Almazan until his passing in 2004. She was a graduate of class 1953 of Minersville High School, earned a two-year Associate degree from Penn State University, and completed a one-year internship at Sacred Heart Hospital Laboratory. She worked as a laboratory technologist at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cleveland Clinic and Forest City Hospital in Cleveland, OH.
She enjoyed tennis, bridge, gardening, traveling and being with family.
Lorraine is survived by her companion Don Harris; son Dr. Anthony Almazan and his wife Erin, of Dayton, OH; son Michael Almazan of Whitehall, PA; daughter Judith Almazan Stuhmer and her husband Jeff, of Seattle, WA; and grandchildren Michael, Sarah, Bridget, Jude, Adam and Brittney. Lorraine was preceded in death by her son Bob, who died in 1999.
A private celebration of life will be held with family.
