Obituary for Louis R. Hacker
Louis R. Hacker, 98 years, of Coplay, passed away on Tuesday July 24th, 2018 at Sacred Heart Assisted Living in Northampton. He was the husband of Emma R. (Stangl) Hacker, celebrating 71 years of marriage in June. Born in N. Coplay, he was the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Pfiefer) Hacker.
Louis was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Coplay. He was employed as a control room operator for Firestone and Occidental Petroleum in Pottstown for many years before retiring in 1984.
Louis was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. and a charter member and life member of the VFW Post #4714 in Northampton. He was an avid sportsman.
Survivors include his wife Emma, sons Gary, and Karl and his wife Carmen, all of Annapolis, MD a daughter Carol, wife of Donald Richter of Severna Park, MD, grandchildren Lauren, Evan and Andrew Louis, and great grandchildren Joseph, Theodore and Stella Rose. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30am on Saturday July 28th, 2018 at St. Peter's Catholic Church 4 S. 5th St. Coplay, PA 18037. A calling period will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Saturday at the church. The interment will be private. Brubaker Funeral Home Inc. 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037 is handling arrangements. Memorial donations can be made to the church, c/o the funeral home.
