Obituary for Louise E. Swann
Louise E. Swann, 93, formerly of Bethlehem and Oakton, VA., died Friday June 8th, 2012 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem where she resided. She was the wife of the late John I. Swann, retired Pennsylvania State Police Captain, Troop M, Bethlehem. Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Louise (Kern) Kappes. Louise was a former member of the Church of Notre Dame of Bethlehem, where she was a member of their Woman’s Club. She was also a volunteer at Holy Family Manor. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother of her daughter Karen Louise Evans Nelson and husband Richard of Oakton, VA; grandchildren William Evans III, Katrina Louise Moosally and husband Arthur., John Evans and great granddaughter Nikaletta Louise Evans; step grandchildren Penny Nelson Boyd and Michael Nelson; step great granddaughter Sara Boyd; brother William Kappes and sister Trudy McGonigle. Louise was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters and son-in-law William Evans Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday June 12 at 11:00am in St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1001 2nd Street, North Catasauqua, 18032. Her viewing will be from 9:30-10:30am Tuesday in the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. Memorial contributions may be made in her name payable to Holy Family Manor, or to the Troop M Camp Cadet Program of the Pennsylvania State Police, both care of the funeral home.
