Obituary for Mae H. Kolb
Mae H. Kolb, 100, formerly of Coplay, passed away on August 22, 2021, at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth E. Kolb for 52 years before his passing in May of 1999. Born in Allen Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Bessie E. (Smoyer) Lerch.
After graduating high school, Mae was employed by the former General Ribbon Mill in Catasauqua as a ribbon cutter for ten years. Mae was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Coplay. She was a member and past president of the Muhlenberg Hospital Board of Trustees. Mae enjoyed volunteering at both Muhlenberg Hospital and Phoebe Nursing Home. She was also past president of the Coplay Garden Club. She loved to knit, shop, and play parchesi. Above all, Mae loved spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice M., wife of Ted Keller of Whitehall; and Jane L., wife of Keith Correll of N. Catasauqua; three grandchildren, Tami Pinchiaroli, Jacob Correll, and Sara Keller; and two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Ryan Correll. She was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy, Howard, Maisy, Josephine, and Daniel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 South 3rd. St. Coplay, Pa. 18037. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM at the church. Burial will follow the church service at Greenwood Cemetery in Howertown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phoebe Nursing Home, 1925 W Turner St, Allentown, PA 18104, or St. John’s Lutheran Church at the above address.
