Obituary for Magdalen Garrison
Magdalen Garrison, 73, of Coplay, passed away on the Lord’s day, Sunday July 9th, 2017 at Blough Nursing Home, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Herbert Garrison, celebrating 54 years of marriage this past May. Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Lamm) Kalch.

Magdalen was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Coplay, where she was a secretary for 23 years. She was also a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society, serving as acting treasurer, a Eucharistic Minister and devoted her time to the church picnic committee, pierogie making committee and church dinners. She arranged yearly visits to the MSC Nuns in Reading as well.

Prior to working at the church, she was employed by the Bon-Ton Distribution Center for 11 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

She always made time for her grandchildren in all their activities.

Survivors include her husband, daughters Maria Ruch, fiancée of Jeffrey Harakal of Allentown, Jane Chase at home, Amy Garrison, fiancée of Darren Norfleet of Whitehall, and Michelle, wife of Timothy Weber of Allentown, a sister Anna Pavlo of Bethlehem, grandchildren Tyrell and his wife Stephanie, Tevon, Treyce, Stephen, Aaron, Ayanna, Kyle and Kory, a great granddaughter Valerie Skyy and nieces and nephews. She was precedeased by a son Herbert III and a sister Theresa Kurtz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday July 15, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 4 S. 5th St. Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held from 8:00-9:30AM on Saturday at Brubaker Funeral Home 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA, formerly Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home.
