Obituary for Marcella E. Deutsch
Marcella "Marcie" E. Deutsch, 89 of North Catasauqua, died Tuesday September 30th, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Deutsch. Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Louise M. (Kern) Kappes. Marcie was a very active member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church in North Catasauqua where she was a member and past president of their alter and rosary society. She was also a member of St. Andrew's Young at Heart Club. Marcie enjoyed being a homemaker and her time at Holy Family Manor where she volunteered for over 32 years. Surviving are her sons Dennis J. and his wife Mary Ellen of Catasauqua; Anthony T. of North Catasauqua; brother William Kappes of Easton; sisters Louise Swann of Bethlehem, Helen wife of Robert Deibert of Catasauqua and Gertrude "Trudy" McGonigle of Allentown; grandchildren Brian of Bethlehem; Lori of Allentown and Amy of North Carolina and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin and 6 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday October 4th, 2008 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1001 Second Street, North Catasauqua, 18032. Call from 9:30-10:30am at the Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Walnut St. Catasauqua, 18032. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the church.
