Margaret A. Furst, 89, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, with loved ones by her side. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Anna (Uhl) Eddinger.
She was the proud wife of the late Gerald I. Furst with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
She worked in the dietary department at Allentown State Hospital.
She was a foster parent for many children. Her top priority was her family. She was selfless and supportive of all her loved ones. She never left her home without her lipstick.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed music. One of her favorite activities was challenging family to games of Parcheesi. She enjoyed game shows; vacationing with family and rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Survivors: Children Robert and wife Judy, Timothy and wife Brenda, Dawn and husband Dennis Lutz; sister Mary Jane and husband Don Stauffer; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter Melody Mercado and son Jack; sister Nancy Dunbar; daughter-in-law Rita and great grandchild Gabriella.
There will be a graveside service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 201-299 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA. 18052 on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
