Obituary for Margaret M. Beers
Margaret M. Beers died suddenly Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Bethlehem. Born September 20, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Rose T. and Ferdinand J. Klepeiss of Coplay. She was married to her husband, Ellison G. Beers Jr., for 57 years.
Margaret was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Reading. She began her career at Allentown State Hospital and Allentown Hospital and then worked for over 30 years in the neonatal nursery department of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown. She was a knowledgeable and dedicated colleague to many teams throughout her career and impacted the lives of so many infants that she cared for.
She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church of Allentown. Margaret was a nurturer to all, including animals, especially cats. She was also an avid gardener and an excellent cook who was known for her cherry cheesecake. She enjoyed many family traditions which will be carried on by her daughters and grandsons. Margaret enjoyed watching all sports,
especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
She loved spending time with her family and held traditional Sunday dinners at the house so she could spend time with her four grandsons. She is survived by her husband, Ellison G. Beers Jr., her sister, Rose Marie (Huber) of Coplay, sister-in law, Charlotte Magliane of Allentown, daughter, Sharon, wife of Neil Goldberg of North Wales, daughter, Christine, wife of Brian Mantel of Bethlehem Township, grandsons, Dr. Elliott Goldberg, Alexander Goldberg, Colin and Evan Mantel, a niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Ferdinand Jr.
There will be a calling period on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. of Coplay, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA. 18037. Funeral service officiated by Father Garry Koch to immediately follow at 11:00 am. in the parlor.
